OVERVIEW

Welcome to figures of speech. These terms apply to purchases made through figuresofspeech.com.au and your use of our website.

In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to figures of speech, based in Brisbane, Australia. Please read these terms alongside our Shipping, Refund and Privacy policies.

  1. OUR PRODUCTS

figures of speech offers ready-to-wear and made-to-order garments. Each product page provides information about the garment’s materials, fit, sizing and any applicable production timeframe.

We aim to represent our products accurately. Colours may appear slightly different depending on your screen settings and lighting. Natural variations in fabric, washing and finishing may occur, but products must still match their description and meet applicable consumer guarantees.

  1. ORDERS AND PAYMENT

Please check your items, sizes, delivery address and contact details before placing an order. Payment must be authorised before an order can be processed.

If an item is unavailable or we identify a material pricing or description error, we will contact you promptly. We will seek your agreement to any proposed change or offer cancellation and a refund. We will not increase the price of an existing order without your agreement.

  1. PRICING

Prices are displayed in the currency indicated on the website. Delivery charges and any applicable taxes collected by us are shown at checkout.

For international orders, additional import duties or taxes may be payable to the destination country’s authorities unless checkout states that these are included.

Prices may change for future purchases. Changes do not affect orders already placed.

  1. PROCESSING AND DELIVERY

Please refer to the product page and our Shipping Policy for the processing and delivery information applicable to your order.

Production, order processing and delivery are separate stages. Made-to-order production time is additional to delivery time unless expressly stated otherwise.

We will notify you of material delays and discuss available options. Delivery estimates do not limit your rights if an order is not supplied as agreed.

If your parcel is missing, damaged or delayed, please contact us so we can investigate and help resolve the issue.

  1. MADE-TO-ORDER GARMENTS

Products identified as made to order are produced after purchase. Casual and alta sartoria pieces generally require approximately 6–8 weeks for production before dispatch, unless a different timeframe is stated on the product page or agreed with you.

Where measurements or fit details are required, we will contact you to confirm them. Please provide accurate information and raise any questions before approving the specifications.

Contact us promptly if you wish to change or cancel a made-to-order purchase. Available options depend on the agreed specifications, production stage, our Refund Policy and your legal rights. We will explain any proposed costs before you agree to a change.

Made-to-order status does not remove your rights concerning faulty, misdescribed or otherwise non-compliant goods.

  1. RETURNS AND CONSUMER RIGHTS

Our Refund Policy explains our change-of-mind return and exchange arrangements.

Your purchases come with guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded. Depending on the circumstances, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, refund and compensation.

Any change-of-mind conditions, return windows or exclusions in our policies do not restrict these statutory rights. Consumer guarantees also apply to sale and made-to-order items.

To report a problem, email office@figuresofspeech.com.au with your order number and a description of the issue.

  1. GARMENT CARE

Follow the care instructions supplied with your garment. Where you are unsure about cleaning or handling a particular fabric or finish, contact us before treatment.

Damage caused by misuse or failure to follow appropriate care instructions may affect eligibility for a remedy, without limiting rights that otherwise apply under consumer law.

  1. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

Our brand names, logos, original designs, photography and website content are owned by figures of speech or used with permission.

You may browse and share links to our website for personal use. Reproduction or commercial use of protected content requires permission, except where permitted by law.

  1. PRIVACY

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and handle personal information provided when you visit our website, contact us or place an order.

  1. WEBSITE USE

You must not use this website for unlawful activity, fraudulent purchases, unauthorised access or interference with its operation.

  1. UPDATES TO THESE TERMS

We may update these terms from time to time. Updated terms apply to future purchases from the time they are published. The terms applicable when you placed your order continue to govern that purchase unless we agree otherwise.

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.
